Here are the fundamental
aspects associated to your immune
system. Your
body creates something called
Glutathione for your immune system.
Basically it is the main part of your
"autoimmune functions, ant oxidizing and
detoxing functions". You will see it
referred to as GSH many times as a short
form. Your immune system's health or
lack there of is directly associated to
almost every aspect of the rest of your
health including your mental health.
When most people feel good, they
generally feel happy. When they feel
lousy they general feel unhappy. Your
body knows how to help you, it just
needs your help!
Glutathione is stored primarily in
your liver and is what your liver
needs to do it's job. If you take a
Glutathione supplement your body will
not utilize it the same as if it makes
the Glutathione itself. For your body to
make Glutathione it needs 3
amino acids (or proteins - same
thing). One of the amino acids can not
easily be found in your diet and is not
made by your body. That is called
Cysteine.
Two Cysteine molecules bond together to
form Cystine. Cystine acts like a
capsule which carries Cysteine to your
cells. When the Cystine gets in your
cells your body cleaves apart the
capsule or Cystine back into Cysteine.
Your cells then produce Glutathione from
the Cysteine and the other 2 amino acids
currently in your body.
There are many sources of
Cystine which you would assume had
Cysteine in it. However, it was
verified by scientific studies that by
mechanically processing substances to
form various supplements the Cystine in
them is cleaved apart and breaks down
to Cysteine before getting to your cells
where it is needed. A lot of the
Cysteine is lost on the way to the cell
consequently unable to be as effective
in creating Glutathione. They refer
to this problem as being denatured.
You want Cystine to be
un-denatured and bioactive for your body
to get the most out of the "Cysteine".
Most manufacturers of
whey protein isolates and concentrates
mechanically process their
product consequently denaturing the
Cystine.
